The official opposition party, DTA, is promising to give Swapo a run for its money in some constituencies and local authorities in the ruling party’s northern heartland.
While the ruling party has fielded candidates in all local authorities and all constituencies in the North, the DTA has decided to contest only five local authorities and eight constituencies in Ohangwena, Oshana and Omusati.
The DTA is fielding candidates for the newly created Okongo village, the border town of Helao Nafidi, Ondangwa, Oshakati and Ruacana.
