N$4 billion for transport plan

It will cost the government N$4.1 billion to make the Sustainable Urban Transport Master Plan for Windhoek a reality.
The ambitious plan, which includes Rehoboth, Okahandja and the Hosea Kutako International Airport, is expected to be completed by 2032.
According to the Windhoek municipality’s public transportation manager, Clarence Rupingena, 20 of the 26 buses procured at a cost of N$90 million are expected to arrive by next month. The other six will arrive next year.
“Eighty buses are what we need to meet the current demand,” he said.
