Residents of the newly-created Nehale lyaMpingana Constituency in Oshikoto Region and Olukumwa in the Okongo Constituency in Ohangwena Region are experiencing serious water scarcity and are urging the government to come to their rescue.
The worst affected areas in the Nehale lyaMpingana Constituency include the King Kauluma village and the surrounding localities.
The senior headman of Uukwanambwa district, Willem Lidker, said more boreholes were needed in the district as a matter of urgency.
“The government must come to our rescue. We are suffering,” he said.
