Despite several challenges that the meat industry in Namibia has faced this year, Meatco has managed to slaughter more than 80 000 cattle since February and says it is well on track to reach its target of slaughtering just over 108 969 cattle by the end this financial year.
According to Meatco, 81 352 cattle have been slaughtered since the start of the financial year on February 1 to the first week of September.
The actual target that was set by Meatco for this period was to slaughter 83 809 cattle.
