The civil aviation industry in Namibia is more than 50 years old and puts the country at risk in terms of security and terrorism threats.
The concern was voiced yesterday when the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economics and Public Administration discussed the new Civil Aviation Bill with various stakeholders.
According to the Director of Civil Aviation (DCA), Angelina Simana, the current legislation, which is outdated, was enacted by the then South African administration more than 50 years ago.
