Governors being appointed by a Head of State opens the door to corruption, says the country’s foremost political commentator Professor Joseph Diescho.
However, one of the country’s longest-serving governors Khomas Regional Governor, Laura McLeod-Katjirua, described Diescho’s corruption claims as “absurd”.
Delivering his presentation on Tuesday at the three-day Anti-Corruption Conference, Diescho said governors should be elected into power.
