The stage is set for Namibia’s latest attempt at winning a world title, with Paulus ‘The Rock’ Ambunda due to fight Argentina’s Leandro David Esperante at the Ramatex Building in Windhoek on Saturday.
The South American touched down in Namibia yesterday for his battle with Ambunda for the vacant IBO super bantamweight world title.
The fight’s promoter, Nestor Tobias of the MTC Sunshine Boxing Academy, said this is an indication that the fight will go ahead.
“When you get the guy here, then you have won the first round,” he said at a press conference yesterday.
