One of Namibia’s stalwarts of the liberation struggle, Mburumba Kerina, says not only the OvaHerero and Nama people were affected by the colonial genocide of 1904 – 08.
That supports a disputed 2014 claim by the National Heritage Council of Namibia that the remains of Owambo, Damara and San people were taken to Germany alongside those of OvaHerero and Nama people during the colonial period.
That came after the repatriation of 35 skulls and three skeletons from Germany, which were said to include the remains of Damara, Owambo and San people.

According to Khomas regional education director Gerard Vries, the distribution of stationery and textbooks is in full swing with two circuits in the region already completed.
He attributes the slow pace of distribution to a sudden increase in enrolment after the scrapping of school fees last year.
