Danger lurks along the recently upgraded Oshigambo-Eenhana road and the police have ordered contractors to stop work until a demining team completes its work.
The order followed after a powerful Russian-made anti-tank mine was discovered on the edge of the road last week.
The old gravel road between Oshigambo and Eenhana was recently tarred and contractors were still busy with finishing touches when the landmine was discovered by a police demining team searching for landmines and unexploded bombs 20 metres on either side of the road.
