The decision came after SuperSport had initially shown interest in buying the television rights for U$25 000 (N$3.3 million).
Indongo's promoter, Nestor Tobias, said he was shocked that Africa's biggest sports channel would snub one of the world biggest boxing events involving an African boxer making history.
“This is disgustingly disappointing for SuperSport to look down on Namibia like this.
“This is supposed to be a proud moment for Africa, but once again SuperSport sees it differently, they see it as a Namibian event as opposed to an African event.
“If this was a South African boxer involved in such a fight they would have bought the rights without fail, but because it's a Namibian they do not care and that has to be addressed with their local and head office,” Tobias said.
