2016 school fees to be refunded

After the government announced free secondary education starting next year, Namibian Sun has been inundated with calls from parents who said schools are refusing to refund fees paid in advance.
In some instances parents were informed that the fees they had paid would serve as a “compulsory-voluntary fee” to be paid by all parents.
That is not the case, however. The education ministry this week stated that all parents who had paid the abolished school development fund fees for 2016 must be refunded.
