Katjanaa Chester Kaurivi - the independent candidate who triumphed over Swapo in the Otjombinde Constituency vote - says he wanted to teach the ruling party a lesson for not selecting him as its candidate for last Friday’s regional and local government elections.
In an interview with Namibian Sun, Kaurivi this week said that when a political party decides to make decisions on behalf of a community - without consulting the people - it will not only cause conflict, but even cost them a constituency when they go to the polls.
