Battle for Kunene heats up

The battle between Swapo, the DTA and the United Democratic Front (UDF) for the seven constituencies in the Kunene Region is reaching boiling point, as the November 27 regional and local government elections fast approaches.
Despite the fact that Swapo won six of the seven constituencies in last year’s national elections, DTA president McHenry Venaani says history will repeat itself, as Swapo received the most votes in the Epupa Constituency in the 2009 national elections, but ended up losing the constituency to the DTA in the 2010 regional and local government elections.
