NamRights executive director Phil ya Nangoloh has urged the United Nations to intervene on the side of the 132 former Caprivians that were detained and allegedly tortured by the Namibian government during a state of emergency in 1999.
Ya Nangoloh also wants the UN to seek clarity from the Namibian government about its refusal to prosecute and sentence 40 so-called “Caprivi Strip torturers”.
