American national Kevin Townsend, who is facing a charge of murder in connection with the killing of Windhoek resident Andre Heckmair in 2011, now has a new defence lawyer.
The Ministry of Justice’s Directorate of Legal Aid has instructed Windhoek lawyer Mbanga Siyomuinji to represent Townsend.
Siyomuinji was present in court on Friday morning during a pre-trial conference. The case was postponed to November 13 to allow the lawyer to consult with his client on how to proceed with the matter when trial begins.
