Board members of State-Owned Enterprises now have to seek the approval of the Public Enterprises Ministry before undertaking any foreign trips.
Public Enterprises Minister Leon Jooste announced yesterday that he has ordered all foreign trips by board members of parastatals to go through his ministry in order to avoid unnecessary waste of taxpayers’ money. According to Jooste, board members will no longer be allowed to travel abroad unless in exceptional circumstances where a member of the board may be required to travel.
