Before Namibia’s independence, the San were a marginalised people who more often than not were paid in tombo and rumours persist that in those years, they would sell their children to commercial farmers due to their alcohol addiction.
It appears as though nothing has changed.
A group of young San women yesterday lifted the veil on a community whose plight has only worsened in the 25 years since independence.
