The Namibian government wants to find a solution to what it describes as the “disturbing problem” of Botswana’s shoot-to-kill policy with regard to poachers.
According to the government, this policy has resulted in deaths that could have been prevented.
Two Namibians suspected of being ivory poachers were shot and killed earlier this year close to the Botswana border by the Botswana Defence Force.
