Relocated villagers claim ‘daylight robbery’

Residents of Omungwelume in the Ongenga Constituency of the Ohangwena Region claim to have evidence that government officials are deliberately robbing people who are relocated to make way for the development of the settlement.
They claimed during an impromptu gathering on Tuesday that the measurement of their land was riddled with mistakes that led to some residents being underpaid.
The case of businessman Kleopas Kapweya was singled out as the clearest example of “daylight robbery”.
