TransNamib yesterday said that employees are not being retrenched, but that the company is embarking on a voluntary early retirement process.
This follows media reports this week that TransNamib has decided to continue with its planned retrenchment of about 1 000 workers.
Earlier this year it was announced that part of the company’s turnaround plan includes a right-sizing exercise which will include the retrenchment off 963 employees working in non-core departments.
