The applications for discharge by five of seven persons arrested in 2008 in connection with the N$30 million Avid Investment and Social Security Commission (SSC) fraud scandal were dismissed on Friday.
High Court Judge Christie Liebenberg handed down the ruling.
All seven accused persons are charged separately on 11 counts, namely the main charge of fraud and alternative counts of theft and corruption.
The corruption charge is being applied in terms of the Anti-Corruption Act of 2003.
