A midnight High Court order in favour of the chief of the OvaMbanderu, Kilus Nguvauva, restrained his rivals from proceeding with a traditional commemoration at Okeseta.
The respondents in the urgent application, Aletha Nguvauva, Erastus Kahuure and Bori Katjiuanjo, had intended to hold the commemoration this past weekend at Okaseta in the Omaheke Region.
When the Gobabis police served the notice of the application on them on Saturday, the three refused to take it.
The application before the Windhoek High Court was consequently finalised in their absence.
