Nestor’s wounded lions ready to roarNestor’s wounded lions ready to roarEnergy vows ninth-round knockout Boxing promoter Nestor ‘Sunshine’ Tobias says his next bonanza will be a great spectacle given the fact that he is unleashing boxers who are eager to prove a point. JESSE JACKSON KAURAISA

Nestor ‘Sunshine’ Tobias is confident that the next card will produce thrills and spills because boxers are eager to prove a point in front of returning fans.

The boxers also come into the bonanza having faced difficult circumstances because of Covid-19.

“I put up this one because I know that the boys want to prove a point because of what happened last time.

“This is not only about proving a point but it is also for the boxers to entertain the fans that have been deprived of watching quality boxing due to restrictions.

“It does not get better than the kind of fights and titles up for grabs and that is why I feel the fans will be in for an incredible boxing treat,” Tobias said.

Phillipus ‘Energy’ Nghitumbwa has vowed to drop his opponent, Innocent ‘The Real Tacoon’ Mantengu, in the ninth round.

The two boxers will trade leather at “Together as One Part 4” boxing bonanza on 16 October at the Windhoek Country Club.

“My preparation went very well and had the best team in the world and there is no way I can let this fight slip away from my team and my country,” Nghitumbwa said.

The boxers will fight for the vacant WBO global title, which promoter Nestor Tobias believes will be an interesting clash between two powerful continental champions.

“Energy remains one of our best hopes to grab the world by storm in near future with a record of 15 fights, 14 wins, one loss with 12 KOs, while Mantengu boasts with an impressive record of 20 fights, 14 wins, five losses and one draw,” Tobias said.

MTC Nestor Sunshine Promotions has lined up four title fights with the aim of giving boxing fans a welcome back from Covid-19 lockdown.

The main bout will be a rematch between Paulinus ‘John John’ Ndjolonimus and Anthony Jarman for the WBO Africa super-middleweight title.

The last time the two fought early this year, Njolonimus left it late and had to dig deep for the victory after Jarman had dominated the fight.

“I am more than ready and will definitely fight better than I did last time around.

“I swear that Anthony does not know what is coming for him but he will feel the wrath of a wounded lion,” Njolonimus said.

The main supporting bout will be between Charles Shinima and Mohammed Muta for the WBO Africa welterweight title.

Jeremia Nakathila will fight for the first time since his world title fight against American Shakur Stevenson.

The former African and global champion will face Tinashe Mwadziwana in an international junior lightweight bout.

“I have definitely dusted myself off from the previous defeat and ready to rumble again.

“I had time on my own to do some introspection from my last bout, which is always something very important.

“Right now, I am going into this fight to search for a victory and to get myself back to the top,” Nakathila said.

In other fights, Matheus Heita will challenge Julius Sheefeni for the national super bantamweight title.

The fight is promoted by MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing & Fitness and sponsored by MTC.

“General tickets will sell for N$400 per person while a table for eight people with wine and dine will go for N$12 000. Tickets are very limited and please book at our office or the Country Club,” Tobias added.
