The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has dismissed allegations that it is distributing drought-relief food that is unfit for human consumption.
Spokesperson Saima Shaanika said maize meal and tinned fish are being distributed to drought-stricken communities.
She denied accusations that the food lacks nutritional value and is unfit for human consumption.
According to her the maize meal was produced by reputable companies according to the specifications of the OPM, while the tinned fish was produced and packed according to international standards.
