The court challenge by some disgruntled members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Namibia (ELCRN) to have the ELCRN bishop’s decision declaring the election results of the new church council as null and void be revoked, was dismissed on Friday in the Windhoek High Court.
The challengers claim they are the rightful members of the ELCRN church council and that the declaration to nullify their election must be set aside. Out of the 15 members of the council only three were newly elected while the rest retained their positions.
