Swapo reneged on independence deal

Former SWATF and Koevoet members have been urged to challenge the government in court on the constitutionality of the War Veterans’ Act.
The executive director of the Forum for the Future (FFF), Samson Ndeikwila, says the War Veterans’ Act of 2008 is “indefensible” and must be amended to be inclusive of all Namibians.
Ndeikwila said the Act was put in place to benefit the ruling Swapo elite, Oshiwambo speakers and some Swapo members, commenting that public funds are used in this way to mobilise people in favour of the ruling party.
