The City of Windhoek met with a number of car-wash owners in order to identify strategies and solutions that will ensure achievable long-term water usage regulations for the industry.
These include a 15-litre water limit per vehicle washed, which the City has put in place for car washes, a goal those present at the meeting said was unachievable and unrealistic.
Several owners noted that business had dropped by as much as 40% over the past year, and many were facing retrenchment.
