The City of Windhoek has under heavy fire from residents after it published a public notice forbidding the use of grey-water systems, the use of semi-purified water on residential premises and the storage of drinking water.
Besides the regulations themselves, the tone of the notice was also criticised.
In a letter to the municipality, concerned residents said they “did not take kindly to being steamrolled”. Others questioned whether the regulations were in line with existing laws.
