The home side scored 13 tries en route to an emphatic win, the second over their Namibian counterparts after recording a victory in the first round fixture, in the first week of May.
Tries for the Xerox Golden Lions were scored courtesy of a brace from Wayne van der Bank and Phumzile Moqondwana each, a try a piece via Siyabonga Masuku, Selom Gavor, Anthony Volmink, Stephen Bhasera, Eduard Fouche, Darrien-Lane Landsberg, Austin Davids, Morne van den Berg and a penalty try.
The visitors' only try was scored by JC Winkler which DJ van Weidts converted. Along with a first-half penalty via the boot of Aurello Plato, these were the only points for the Windhoek Draught Welwitschias.
It took the home side just six minutes to get the opening try when flyhalf Masuku dotted down which fullback Alwyn Cilliers converted, 7-0.
The Golden Lions would score at regular intervals, building up a substantial 35-3 lead with 15 minutes left in the opening half.
Van der Bank opened his scoring tally for the afternoon when the outside centre outsmarted the visitors' defenders to take the men from Johannesburg to a 42-3 lead as the players headed into the locker rooms for halftime.
The home side picked up where they left off when prop Bhasera crashed over for his side's first try of the second half, Cilliers added the extras, 49-3.
This would spark a period of dominance from the Golden Lions as they went onto score six more tries, while the Namibians could only manage one five-pointer.
The damage was done and the writing was on the wall for the Welwitschias from the first whistle.
