While receiving positive reviews, President Hage Geingob has also been critisised for certain decisions that he took during his first year as head of state.
Among his achievements was introducing performance agreements for ministers and preventing an uprising over land, while commentators said a lack of specific interventions was one of his downfalls.
Geingob took over the presidency from former President Hifikepunye Pohamba at a time analysts describe as critical, “because the people are demanding economic prosperity”.
