Domestic workers who are up at 03:00 in the mornings say they are at risk of losing their jobs because municipal buses never arrive on time.
Because of the unreliable bus service these women, most of whom are older than 40, are forced to walk in the dark or hitch-hike to get to their jobs in upmarket suburbs such as Ludwigsdorf or Klein Windhoek.
The workers also claim that they are verbally abused when they arrive in Klein Windhoek in the dark and are even suspected of being criminals.
