Residents of the Ombili informal settlement at Eenhana in the Ohangwena Region were ordered to leave the area on Saturday.
The location is formally categorised as a squatter camp and everyone was ordered to pack up and go.
The town’s deputy mayor, Eunice Shonena, and chief executive officer Valde Ndevashiya addressed residents and informed them about the town’s layout and measures to control the mushrooming shacks.
The meeting was also attended by Senior Headman Ephraim Weyulu and the village headmen of Eenhana and Ekolola, Julius Ndjuluwa and Eino Haufiku.
