Squatters at chief’s house won’t budge

The OvaHerero Traditional Authority (OTA) says it will evict the close to 50 people illegally living at the paramount chief’s official residence in Katutura.
The traditional authority asked those living there, many of whom are unemployed young people, to vacate the premises by December last year in order to renovate the property.
The house, which the OvaHerero community regards as a tribal monument, is situated next to the OvaHerero commando in Katutura.
