The Namibian police's //Karas regional crime Investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo, told Nampa on Tuesday that the boy was arrested around 18:30 at the hostel premises on Thursday last week.
Police confiscated 44 “balies” of dagga from the suspect.
The value of the cannabis still has to be determined.
Mubebo said the boy already appeared in court and was released into the care of his guardians, as he is a minor.

Meanwhile on Friday, police confiscated 915 grams of the same illicit drug worth N$2 745 from a 30-year-old man on the B1 road at a bridge in Noordoewer.
He was charged with dealing in the contraband.
It is not yet known in which court he appeared.
Also earlier this week, two adults, a 43-year-old Congolese male and an Angolan woman, 47, were arrested with cocaine at the corner of Daan Viljoen and Otjomuise roads.
According to the police, at about 06:00, 4.1kg of cocaine, valued at N$2 million, was seized from the two suspects.
The police alleged that the suspects' vehicle, a Toyota Corolla skipped a red robot and hit another Corolla that is a taxi.
The police say after hitting the taxi, the male suspect grabbed a bag from his vehicle and tried to flee the scene but the taxi driver caught him and held him back. The police were called and upon their arrival they found a bag of four blocks of suspected cocaine in the suspects' vehicle. The Congolese man is married to a Namibian woman and they were both arrested and are in police custody.
