Riding 369 kilometres from Windhoek to Swakopmund over a 24-hour period is no joke. That much everyone agrees on when it comes to the Nedbank Desert Dash, which took place over the weekend.
But while riding a bike for that period on what is naturally not a smooth surface is taxing on both the body and mind, what was striking about most of the riders were the smiles at having conquered the route.
Rider after rider forgot all about their tiredness to celebrate reaching the finish line.
