As Namibia’s first-ever nuclear policy is in the final stage and will probably be launched soon, the Legal Assistance Centre (LAC) has raised a cautionary note on government’s toying with the idea to further enrich the country’s uranium resources for the generation of electricity.
The draft Nuclear Fuel Cycle Policy, which was formulated in 2010 and is now “in print”, covers the entire cycle from uranium exploration, mining and milling to nuclear power generation.
