This year’s Desert Dash, which is sponsored by Nedbank Namibia, will start this afternoon with racers due to tackle the 369km 24-hour race from Windhoek to Swakopmund as from 15:00.
Having faced uncertainty earlier in the year when Aiden de Lange, who is the brains behind the race, announced that the event will cease to be held after ten years.
However, quick intervention by Namibia Cycling Federation (NCF) president, Mannie Heymans and his business partner, Leander Borg saw the race back on the calendar with Nedbank joining up as new title sponsors.
