Windhoek residents will have to fork out more for municipal services after the City Council approved new tariffs for the current financial year.
Water will increase by 10% while electricity will cost 9.8% more. Refuse removal and solid waste management will increase by 10% while sewerage will cost a whopping 17% more. Rates and taxes will increase by 9% for property owners.
The impact on low-income households has been calculated at just over N$74 a month, while higher-income households will pay $377 more.
