The Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) says the outcome of the recently held regional and local authority elections points in the opposite direction of democracy, which is drifting towards a one-party state, while also blaming Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for their dismal performance at the polls.
Swapo dominated both the regional and local authority polls held last week Friday, winning 112 out of 121 constituencies. In the process it also wrestled back power from RDP in the affluent Windhoek East Constituency, which was the only constituency under the control of RDP.
