Garage robbery suspect appears

A suspect in an armed robbery at the Pioniers Park Total Service Station, during which N$170 000 was stolen, has made a brief appearance in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court.
Leonard Niilenge, who handed himself over to the police on Monday, was informed yesterday that he faces charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances and the illegal possession of firearms, but was not asked to plead.
Early last week, robbers approached one of the managers at the service station and ordered him to hand over a bag filled with money.
