The Ministry of Education will now vet motivational speakers and their messages before allowing them to use school platforms to address learners on various issues.
This will allow the education authority to smoke out hoax speakers who are allowed on school premises under the pretext of being motivational speakers, according to a recent government circular.
In that circular, education permanent secretary Sanet Steenkamp said the ministry had observed a trend of “uncontrolled and uncoordinated” access by speakers to government schools.
