The police’s Anti-Poaching Unit have arrested three men found in possession of elephant tusks in Katima Mulilo.
The two Namibian nationals and one from Botswana were in possession of seven elephant tusks believed to have been poached in the Bwabwata, Mundumo or Nkasa Rupara national parks.
During a media briefing at the Katima Mulilo Police headquarters in the Zambezi Region yesterday, NamPol’s Deputy Inspector-General for Operations, Major-General James Tjivikua said the three men are being detained along with the vehicle used to transport the tusks.
