Writing on the wall for expats

Labour Minister Erkki Nghimtina said Namibians are “sick and tired” of foreign nationals occupying jobs that they can do, like “pushing a wheelbarrow”.
Nghimtina said for specialised professions or skills, the hiring of foreigners is justified.
The minister made the remarks when he announced designated employers and institutions which will be required to register vacancies in their structures with the Employment Services Bureau.
Nghimtina said all employers with a staff complement of 25 or more will be known as designated employers.
