Official opposition leader McHenry Venaani says his party is looking at challenging a constitutional provision that gives the President discretionary powers when it comes the number of ministers and deputies he may appoint.
“We might not challenge this in court this year because of the elections but it is surely in the pipeline,” Venaani told Namibian Sun yesterday.
Venaani stressed that the current situation under President Hage Geingob has led to the Executive dominating the Legislature, which according to him was not the reason for last year’s constitutional amendments. Read more about Venaani to challenge bloated Executive
