Improvements in Namibia’s national budgetary process in the last few years were not enough to bolster the country’s ranking in the latest edition of the foremost global comparative study.
Launched yesterday, the ‘Open Budget Survey 2015’ places Namibia in 55th place out of around 102 countries surveyed, with an overall score of 46 out of 100.
The grading considers the country somewhere between those countries believed to be doing too little to ensure transparency throughout their annual budget cycles, and those deemed to be doing enough.
