The Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry has apologised for the chaos that erupted at the Oshivelo Veterinary Checkpoint when hundreds of motorists were delayed for hours.
According to the ministry’s Acting Permanent Secretary, Abraham Nehemia, the delay was caused by the large number of travellers returning from the North after the school holidays, the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair and the Olufuko Festival.
“It was hell,” said Nehemia, describing the hectic situation at the checkpoint on Sunday.
