Namibian doctors must learn to give back to give to the poor, says Helena Ndume, who has scooped the first United Nations Nelson Mandela Rolihlahla Mandela Prize for her work in ophthalmology.
A respected Namibian eye specialist, Ndume has been named along with Jorge Sampaio of Portugal as the first-ever laureates of the global award.
“This is for all of us... it is not my prize alone, it is for all Namibians. There are so many foot soldiers that made it possible,” said an overwhelmed Ndume.
