I’m a grade 8 learner and I like to make bullet points on my notes as it helps me remember stuff easily. I also find myself asking the five W questions as it forces me to think critically and helps me understand my schoolwork.

I make summaries when I study as I believe one can never write too many summaries. The writing of summaries helps me a lot because I transfer what I have read in the books and rewrite how I understand it.

Reading things out loud helps as it becomes a repetitive thing until you are confident to read it out loud without the notes. This helps with memorising your work faster, especially if you do not want to spend much time on a specific chapter.

The first thing I do before I start studying is praying. Thereafter I make notes and study from the notes I have compiled. I can’t sit and study so I walk around the room while reading my notes out loud.

Making flashcards of every chapter in the book assists me. When you make flashcards, write the word out in a bold colour and then the definition as it seeing visuals or colours helps with memorising. Thank me later.

Having a conducive environment when studying works for me. The environment I prefer is minimalist and has a clean, spacious look. The mood of the room has an impact on how productive you will be once you study.
