Uukwambi, Ongandjera land dispute leads to arrest

Police in the Omusati Region have arrested two men for allegedly removing fencing from privately owned crop fields at Ondjungolume village in the Uukwambi traditional district last month.
Warrant Officer Lineekela Shikongo on Monday confirmed the arrest of Willem Fillemon, 61, and Amunyela Joel, 65.
He said the two were arrested on July 25 and 26 and have appeared in the Okahao Magistrate’s Court on a charge of theft.
The charge stems from them removing the fence wires and poles, claiming that they were sent by the Ongandjera Traditional Authority to do so.
