Hilja Ndapanda Ndjuluwa, who is a highly motivated extrovert with a great hunger to achieve success and serve the world the greatest version of herself, has been with MultiChoice Namibia for over nine years.

“I have gained vast experience in sales, customer care and some elements of marketing,” she says. She and her sisters were raised by a single mother. Her mother was always strong, resilient and a positive role model to look up to.

Ndjuluwa is a sales representative at MultiChoice Namibia. In essence, sales is about fostering and maintaining good working relations between an organisation and its key stakeholders such as clients and organisations who make use of the company’s services.

“Sales encompasses public relations as well as marketing. That is why I believe it can be considered as the backbone of any organisation,” Ndjuluwa says.

Her greatest challenge was filling the big shoes that her predecessor had left without prior training. “All the training I received had to be done actively on the job,” she says.

Her greatest achievement thus far was travelling the whole of Namibia alone to ensure that all MultiChoice clients receive the service they deserve. Blending into a position that was previously only occupied by men, and excelling at it, is, in her view, a great achievement.

She reports for duty at 08:00 and her day starts by reading and responding to email. She then sets up her client visit schedule. “I then proceed to visit clients, I have lunch when my schedule permits and then I continue with my client visit until 17:00 when I knock off,” she says.

One of Ndjuluwa’s greatest loves is mentoring and coaching young people who lack motivation or need encouragement, but the greatest of all is praying for people. “I am inspired by people who show their true authentic selves to the universe,” she adds.

If she had the opportunity to change anything in the world, she would like to change people’s mindsets leading to a positive outlook towards life, the world and eventually towards others.
